Heiser Chevrolet Cadillac February Newsletter
Did You See the new 2014 Cadillac ELR Advertised in the Olympics?
The all-new 2014 Cadillac ELR luxury coupe was recently launched in ads in the Olympics. Buyers can find this revolutionary and striking vehicle now at Heiser Chevrolet Cadillac in West Bend. It features the first application of Extended Range Electric Vehicle technology by the full-line luxury brand. And, ELR’s exterior is simply stunning and should be seen in person to be appreciated. While its interior introduces a new design theme that will define future Cadillac models. Overall, it emphasizes modern elegance and technology among precisely-crafted details.
Industry-leading Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) technology provides a full driving range exceeding 300 miles. That is achieved by combining pure electric driving with an efficient, range-extending generator. It’s a technology that makes the most of the vehicle’s efficiency tendencies.
“ELR provides a new and exciting dimension to the Cadillac brand” said Rick Nelson, General Manager of Heiser Chevrolet Cadillac. “It’s exclusive and combines Cadillac’s well-renowned luxury, advanced engineering and progressive design in a coupe that is both sporty and environmentally friendly.”
ELR’s confident and responsive EREV is enhanced with selectable drive modes. In addition, the Regen on Demand feature allows driver to temporarily regenerate energy from the ELR’s momentum into electricity that can be stored in the battery pack for later use. It is engaged via steering-wheel paddles adapted from traditional performance cars.
Most daily commutes in the ELR will require zero gasoline with zero emissions. Longer trips are free from electric-vehicle range anxiety because EREV technology enables the same long-distance freedom as a conventional car.
ELR highlights include:
The Cadillac ELR was manufactured at General Motors’ Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant, the world’s only automotive manufacturing facility that mass-produces extended-range electric vehicles for global markets. It is also home to Southeast Michigan’s largest photovoltaic solar array. The 264,000-square-foot feature generates up to 516 kilowatts of electricity – enough to charge 150 ELRs per day.

Cruze Owners Warmed Up In January’s Polar Vortex Thanks to the Remote Link App
The Polar Vortex over Southeastern Wisconsin sent temperatures plummeting during most of January. Heiser Chevrolet Cruze owners with OnStar’s RemoteLink Mobile application avoided some of the chill because they could check their car’s status and warm the interior from any distance.
RemoteLink set single-day and single-hour request records last month. January 7 saw upwards of 200,000 requests sent through the mobile application across all General Motors’ brands, setting the one-day record. Later in the month, when the frigid air returned, the single-hour record was set on January 28 with more than 20,000 requests. Chevrolet Cruze owners used the app more than any owners of any other GM vehicle did.
For all of January, Chevrolet owners made 2,909,674 requests through the app. Of that total traffic, 1,603,107, or about 55 percent, of requests were for remote start. The vehicle stays locked after a remote start, so it is secure, even when in a public space. A key in the ignition turn is required for the vehicle to move.
Existing RemoteLink users were just part of the record month. Historically, most customers download the RemoteLink app to their smartphones in January. This January saw more downloads than any previous January on record.
Chevrolet, paired with the RemoteLink app available through OnStar, offers one of the most winter-weather ready lineups of any manufacturer. Remote start is available on most Chevrolets with automatic transmissions and is a part of the free RemoteLink Key Fob service for 2014 and newer model year vehicles. On-demand vehicle diagnostic information and the ability to send directions from your phone to your vehicle requires an active OnStar subscription. To learn more about the 2014 Chevrolet Line-up and RemoteLink app features please visit Heiser Chevrolet Cadillac at 2620 West Washington Street in West Bend or contact the dealership at (262) 438-1000.
