MIKE FINN’S “SEIZING THE DAY” AT HEISER TOYOTA
+Heiser Toyota Scion is proud to have a Used Car Manager that goes the extra mile for his customers and staff. This month we recognize Mike Finn for his dedication to outstanding customer service as well as the Toyota & Scion brands.
Mike has been a part of the Heiser team for 32 total years. He has held several roles within Heiser Automotive Group and is the type of versatile leader that works hard to empower his staff daily. He understands the challenges and rewards of each role in the dealership. Thus, he ensures the dealership works together smoothly as a team.
His colleagues refer to him as a motivating and honest leader. One colleague stated, “I have always enjoyed working with Mike. He is the type of leader that allows you to grow and prove yourself.” As a result many of the Heiser Toyota staff members get promoted to leadership roles within the Heiser organization.
In addition, Mike works hard for each customer to get them into the vehicle they not only want, but deserve. One customer stated, “From start to finish, my experience with the Used Car Manager, Mike was smooth and efficient. I was concerned about my trade in. But, Mike gave me the best trade in value in town! As a result I was able to afford the car I really wanted.”
Mike uses his motto “seize the day” when working with both his customers and staff at Heiser. “At Heiser Toyota Scion, every day is different and challenging. There is always more to learn,” stated Mike. “I want to continue to grow as a leader to not only better serve my customers, but my coworkers as well. The automotive industry is always changing and I want to be on top of the new trends. When Mike isn’t in the used car sales department, he enjoys several pastimes and spending time with family. His hobbies include golfing, fishing, cooking, biking, and reading a good book. He even challenges his sales consultants to a few rounds of golf when they can get a chance.

TOYOTA MOTOR SALES VEHICLES TAKE TOP GREEN CAR HONORS; RAV4 EV HAS HIGHEST SCORE EVER!
Drivers looking for a green vehicle at a good value need look no further. Toyota and Scion models were among the top honored in the 2013 Green Car Guide, published by the Automobile Club of Southern California. Six of the top ten overall green vehicle and “best value” scores are held by the Toyota family.
The 2013 Toyota RAV4 EV compact SUV achieved the highest overall green car score in the history of Green Car Guide. Toyota Highlander Hybrid SUV and Camry Hybrid sedan also appearing in the top ten, as did a couple of Scion models. The Scion iQ micro-subcompact and xD subcompact achieved top five honors in the “best value” rankings.
"Toyota, partnering with Tesla, has produced an impressive full electric compact SUV that is the top scoring Green Car ever tested by the Auto Club's Automotive Research Center," said Automotive Research Center Manager and Chief Engineer Steve Mazor. "The RAV4 EV has excellent acceleration, zero tailpipe emissions and a real 100+ mile range, while maintaining roominess and flexibility."
The Green Car Guide is produced annually by the Auto Club’s Automotive Research Center. The 2013 guide contains information on nearly 80 hybrids, battery electric vehicles, partial zero emission vehicles, compressed natural gas powered vehicles, clean diesels and fuel economy leaders. The guide is designed to help new vehicle buyers with reviews and rankings of low-emission and fuel efficient vehicles.
“Anyone who has a passion for fun, affordable and environmentally friendly vehicles will find what they’re looking for in this guide,” said Bob Carter, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. senior vice president of automotive operations. “Customers are interested in this type of unbiased data and we’re proud to see our Toyota and Scion vehicles recognized in such a prominent way.”
Green Car Guide vehicles are evaluated in a number of categories including EPA fuel economy, vehicle emissions, handling, interior noise and cargo capacity. Vehicles are scored from zero to ten in each evaluation category and scores totaled to determine overall green vehicle leaders. The cumulative scores are then divided by vehicle MSRP to determine cost per point or “best value” rankings.
TOYOTA COROLLA NOMINATED FOR GREEN CAR OF THE YEAR: NAMED ONE OF GREEN CAR JOURNAL’S ‘TOP 5 GREEN CARS FOR 2014’
The 2014 Toyota Corolla has been elevated to “green heights.” The Green Car Journal has named the eleventh-generation sedan a finalist for the 2014 Green Car of the Year award and one of its top 5 Green Cars for 2014. The Corolla also earned the magazine’s ‘Green Car Product of Excellence’ distinction.
Finalists were selected for “their achievements in raising the bar in environmental performance.” One selection factor is the model’s availability to the mass market, giving it the potential to make a real environmental impact.
”The Corolla has been the world’s most popular name plate with over 40 million sold since 1966. The Corolla’s environmental sensitivity has evolved with the market. The new 11th generation of Corolla, and the new LE Eco model in particular, offer increased levels of capability and fuel economy,” said Bob Carter, Senior Vice President, Automotive Operations, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc.
The Green Car of the Year will be announced during media days at the L.A. Auto Show, Nov. 20-21, 2013.
TOYOTA GOES HOLLYWOOD
What do Matt Damon, Portlandia and +TOYOTA have in common? More than you’d think. They’ll come together to celebrate the entertainment industry’s environmental efforts at the 23rd annual Environmental Media Awards at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, Calif.
The award ceremony honors film and television productions that communicate environmental messages in creative and influential ways. This is Toyota’s 12th year as the award’s presenting sponsor.
“The entertainment industry elevated Prius to a cultural icon and made hybrids cool,” said Bob Carter, senior vice president, automotive operations, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. “Toyota is proud to support and celebrate Hollywood’s positive influence and impact on the planet.”
2013 honorees include environmentalist and author Bill McKibben, actor Matt Damon, and actresses Hayden Panettiere and Anna Getty. The Nominees include films such as Promised Land, The Guilt Trip and Gasland II, and TV programs such as Modern Family, Portlandia, House of Cards and Dallas.
The 2013 all-electric RAV4 EV and Prius Plug-in Hybrid will be featured at the ceremony. Attendees will also get the inside scoop on the Toyota hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, coming to market in 2015.
The Environmental Media Association (EMA), organizer and host of the awards, is a non-profit founded by Cindy and Alan Horn and Lyn and Norman Lear in 1989. EMA’s mission is to mobilize the entertainment industry in educating people about environmental issues. Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. is a member of the EMA Corporate Board.
